“There are many things I am passionate about in my life. One of them is teaching. I believe it is part of my responsibility as an artist to share the knowledge I’ve gained from my experiences throughout my career with the future generations of artists. I’ve worked with varying skill levels and ages and have taught in studios, young adult programs, Universities, both as a guest lecturer and adjunct professor, around the country. The one thing I see almost everywhere I go is the lack of confidence in one’s individuality. We are so used to comparing ourselves to other people, or so focused on “doing it right” that we eventually lose sight of what sets us apart. There is only one of each of us, which makes us unlike anyone else. Why wouldn’t we run with that and have the most confidence in that? It is my main focus when I’m teaching to cultivate and nurture your “uniqueness”. No one else can do what you do. When we work we will engage our imaginations and really work on crafting our own perspective on storytelling and personalization. It’s all about growing and learning - making mistakes and not being afraid of that, or apologizing for it. Let’s play and have fun while we work on our craft.”
